At launch, custom pronouns can be uploaded to the Gallery and used in English only.įor this first iteration of the feature we focused on pronouns. However, we plan on rolling out the feature to all 18 languages over time. Initially, the customizable pronouns feature will only be available in English. We’ll be working to improve the feature over time, so please let us know if you run into instances where the incorrect pronoun is displayed on this Answers HQ thread. While the feature has been fully tested, there may be instances where the incorrect conjugation of pronouns or the default pronoun of the assigned gender may still appear due to the intricacies of grammar in English. If you’ve chosen to use custom pronouns, the feature will automatically change pronouns that show up when referring to the Sim to match what you’ve chosen. You’ll see the ‘Custom Pronouns’ drop-down menu where you’ll be able to select from They/Them, She/Her, He/Him, and Custom Pronouns. To change the pronouns for your Sim, simply click on the ‘Hello, my name is…’ tab next to the plumbob. Sims 4 Latest Patch Notes: May 2022 update/s Although the game has gotten much better over time, here’s hoping that The Sims 5 builds on The Sims 4 and isn’t another refresh. As always, we take the patch notes verbatim from the official announcement on The Sims forums, and we edit only for style and brevity where required. It almost felt like a step backwards for the franchise as it was missing features that had already been introduced in previous entries in the series. The Sims 4 received mixed reviews upon its release with many criticizing the game’s lack of content. The expansion reintroduced mechanics similar to the ones we saw with The Sims 4’s Discover University, only this time focused on the high school experience for teens. The Sims 4 has so far seen twelve expansion packs, with the latest, High School Years, releasing this past July. Typically, EA releases a new mainline game every five or so years. This marks the longest wait we’ve had between mainline installments in the long-running franchise. EA had mentioned plans to continue developing and releasing packs, kits and Sims Delivery Express drops for the game “into the foreseeable future.” The Sims 4 is also set to go permanently free to play on October 18 for PC/Mac and consoles. Grubb even mentions that the game is still “a very long way off.” However, given the age of The Sims 4 - which was released over eight years ago - it wouldn’t be surprising to see EA announce plans for The Sims 5.Īn announcement doesn’t necessarily mean The Sims 5 will release anytime soon, however. In announcing the special edition stream, EA only hinted that they’ll be sharing “more about what’s in the works” which could mean anything. In an earlier Game Mess Mornings video from Giant Bomb, the industry insider claims the announcement will “almost certainly” happen during the Behind The Sims Summit livestream on October 18. New rumors from industry veteran Jeff Grubb claim EA will announce The Sims 5 as early as next month.
